With so many wedding websites reporting the trends of 2012 a bride could look for days and not come across them all! We decided to do the research for you and have put together a list of the top trends for the first 6 months of 2012. On our list you will notice that many wedding trends this year have been inspired by Hollywood. As brides have been adapting many ideas from movies such as The Hunger Games, Snow White & The Huntsman and Twilight.  Taking inspiration from movies, weddings have taken on an elegant twist of fantasy and tradition. Here is a list of the Top 10 things trending for the first half of 2012:

1. Grandiose Ranch Weddings
These weddings have a Texas style feel with a rustic twist.  Foods that are normally served are BBQ, Venison, Pheasant or Quail.  Some fun entertainment includes a mechanical bull and line dancing!  For a fun ranch venue here in Dallas check out our sister venue, Eddie Deen’s Ranch!

2. Sleek and Lush Dresses

7. Bachelor Parties
Bachelor parties have taken a huge turn. They are now focused more on a certain type of entertainment or learning a new skill. Guys now go race car driving, learn to play poker or herd cows and sheep.

8. Bachelorette Parties
Bachelorette Parties seem to be taking the same turn as the men. Women have been looking for that adrenaline rush as well. Some bachelorette programs focus on learning defensive moves and "MacGyver-Like Survival Skills," taking some inspiration from the movie The Hunger Games. Sometimes bachelorette partygoers will even participate in these activities wearing dresses to keep that girly feel!

9. Reminiscing on the Past
Ladies love chick-flicks so why not invent your own.  Brides to be have been creating e-messages with little clips of their love story that they have reenacted. Some of these created scenes are shown during the wedding reception, while filming the guests reaction. What a new creative way to remember how it all started on your special day!

10.  Honeymoon Heaven
Many brides have been ditching the one trip to the Caribbean and traveling to multiple destinations around the world! Some have brought their best friends along for the ride as well! Now honeymoons are turning into exploring wildlife during an African safari and less of sipping mai-tais on the beach!
